Artist Statement Navy League Monterey commissioned this artwork showing the USS Cowpens in the Monterey Bay, to recognize and support our adopted unit, the Naval Postgraduate School.

Navy league councils adopt military and sea service units to support the men and women in uniform who serve on the adopted ship or in the adopted unit. We also provide awards and financial support for the crew and their families.

Purchasing this artwork helps us to fund our support programs.

The artist, Shannon Wood, was raised in the San Francisco Bay area and now lives in LA. She holds a Bachelors from Mills College in Oakland, CA, and is currently a student at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
