Description The full title of the painting is, 'A Patriot's Dream: The Inauguration of President Ron Paul.' Inspired by the dream of a return to Constitutionally-limited government.Terwilliger Pottsbottom Estenfuge described the dream to accomplished artist, Celeste Nagy, who spent the entire summer of 2012 translating it into this oil painting. It depicts Justice John Roberts swearing into office President Ron Paul. Paul has his hand on the bible, which is opened to Psalm 91: 12-16, which is where it was opened to when Dr. Paul's favorite president, Grover Cleveland, was inaugurated. Beside him stands his wife, Carol. Looking on we see the past living presidents, Obama, Bush and Clinton, and their wives. Also present are the spirits of the Founding Fathers, who seem pleased at this turn of events. Another spirit is that of Martin Luther King, who also shared a dream of peaceful co-existence. There are also angels, if one can see them.
Terwilliger Estenfuge, Traverse City Member Since September 2012 Artist Statement Terwilliger Pottsbottom Estenfuge ("Terk" to my friends). I commissioned this artwork from fine artist, Celeste Nagy, based on my dream.
Since 1984 I have been promoting the ideals of liberty and encouraging the return to a Constitutionally-limited government. I believe the greatest problem we have is our failure to understand the simple language of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, which are contracts between us and our government - the purpose of which is to limit government power and protect the God-given rights of the individual.
