Description Air is an acrylic and plaster painting in my series of dance or dancers in motion. I used powerful and gestural brush strokes, as I do in all of my paintings to represent the movement in a flamenco dancer. The predominant color is blue to resemble the air and lightness. It symbolize the soul of the dancer through the movement in dance.
Karina Llergo, Northbrook, IL Member Since November 2013 Artist Statement I feel the blood flowing through my veins, accumulating energy into my muscles. I close my eyes, letting my soul dictate the coordinates to move to the rhythm of my heart. I breathe my own music letting my thoughts to evaporate through my skin. I am fulfilled with my interior energy. I am floating, strong and powerful, as I surrender to my movement.
Having so much passion for arts, sports and spiritual exercise I have always been fascinated by the inner feeling that provokes in me. It gives my being power to accomplish.
Ultimately I want to explore my devotion to human figure through energy in motion and its purity to transmit emotions. Liquid and its reflections influence my paintings and contributes to represent the lightness sensation that will come through having tranquility in life. I am always in adventure to find ways to create flows that blend into the bodies for a dynamic action.
My heart moves now within the excitement of my studio, I feel the painting flowing through the tubes, impregnating life into the blank canvas. I close my mind and let my soul dictate its way. I open my emotions, as I start floating, and under my dancing brush solid figures turn liquid interacting with their energy and natural elements. Each painting its own experiment in flow, balance and movement. I am floating, strong and powerful, as I am painting endlessly.
