Artist Statement A. Ortiz is a well-rounded artist. He is a musician well versed in Saxophone, Guitar, Harmonica, and Lead Vocals. He has written several song lyrics and poems and is in the process of publishing his first book. Photography has been his second love with music as his first. He was born and raised in the small town of Harlingen deep in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley. Ortiz moved to San Antonio, Tx in 2005 to persue a different phase of life. His work submitted here is his most recent as his passion for the lens has begun to sweep him away again. Ortiz is hoping to break into this passion full force and is looking forward to sharing his perspectives so that the proceeds can gain his ideal tool, a Canon EOS 50D, and furnish you with more introspective, sharper, and vivid art.
