hot night in july
there will be no sleep for me tonight although a stone's throw from the sea there is no wind not even a whisper of an atmospheric exhalation aeolus is on vacation gone to the cool green mountains to the north along with all other sane persons with means of escape
the air is viscid almost uninhalable and brings no refreshment to the lungs nitrogen oxygen and their minions are beasts of burden tonight great barrels of water accrue to every molecule and one may as well swim as walk in the heated velvet of the night
much as i have all these many years desired you if you should apparate tonight ready (finally) to claim what i have offered i would in the interests of self-preservation be forced to deny you
not even the gift of your long-awaited flesh could tempt me tonight the very thought of a body - even yours - wetly plastered to my skin conjures visions of being buried alive a footer jackhammered into the mattress by the sticky concrete of manweight
no there would be no sex tonight
when jack frost arrives to slay the lordly beast of summer and i lie shivering in my bed caressed only by a cold winding sheet i might curse myself for this refusal still i banish every wish i ever made for passion and sit melting in the suffocating embrace of this hot night in july ~ copyright 2015 RC deWinter
