Description On a suny day, you can be lucky and see a perfect rainbow over the immense double waterfall of Gullfoss (the golden falls) in Iceland. The icelandic woman, Sigridur Tomasdottir saved these spectacular waterfalls from destruction - there were plans to build a hydroelectric power station here. In 1975, Einar Gudmundsson offered the waterfalls as a gift to the Icelandic government, to be turned into a nature reserve
Mark Harrison, UK Member Since February 2007 Artist Statement I enjoy photographing landscapes and wildlife while travelling. Here you can find some of my favourite photos from New Zealand, Iceland, the Dolomites of Italy, Cornwall and the Orkney and Shetland Islands far in the north of Scotland. I love the beauty of nature and hope that you will enjoy these uplifting photos as much as I enjoyed being there!
