at last romance
all the time we were togethe i secretly despaired of you ever doing anything romantic you intrigued me with your nimble mind and ready laugh not to mention those pheromones that sang in harmony with mine
those things were enough to overcome all misgivings but for all our deep and searching conversations all the times we laughed like loons (our humor was always in synch) and all those adventurous explorations of our mutual desire
now i'm no girly girl needing to be cozened into bed with flowery words or extravagant offerings from the marketplace but i used to wish that once just once you'd do something small but meaningful to show me that romance was not a stranger to your soul
and finally you did unconventional incongruous perhaps laughable to some but when i think of you now i remember the night i came in and found a glass of icecold beer a candle in a jelly jar the reddest rose that ever bloomed in another and your latest political screed all laid out on the table just for me ~ Copyright 2014 RC deWinter
