you must keep in mind everything i relate is hindsight for until i breathed air i had no words only visions... i do not know how long i swam in the blue sea that is the mind of god i was warm and sightless floating mute as countless stars and the dust of planets swirled about me but i dreamed
i do not know how with no knowledge of the earth i saw what i did in the mind i didn't know was a mind but i did
my dreams were always the same dream i was standing in a garden with one tree in it a tree that reached to heaven with branches naked (as was i) except for one and from that one hung a solitary apple
and in this garden were fantastical plants and flowers and other things that even today i cannot name and the ground was littered with leaves and fallen apples that lay melting into the earth and the sky was a haze of blues shot through with colors i later came to know as dawn
and in its silence floated small orbs pearls of color couched in clouds i do not know what they were for they did not resemble the stars that surrounded me in my watery nursery perhaps they were the unused thoughts of god
and then the apple on the tree spoke my name eve it whispered eve it hissed
and that was all until i was made flesh and found myself standing with another like me but different and god spoke to us and led us to the tree with the apple and though we were forbidden to touch it i knew the apple was meant for me and nothing could keep me from tasting the sweet white flesh wrapped in the scarlet skin of that last living apple that had called my name ~ copyright 2016 RC deWinter
