Artist Statement I mainly work in oil, however I do diversify in charcoal, pen & ink and I also have a collection of notebooks with pencil sketches documenting anything that passes me by. My subject reoccurs around landscape, seascape & people. I try to work within a theme and collate a body of work.

Being a contemporary impressionist, I am amongst many other artists of the same ilk. People always prompt the notion of trying something that hasn’t been done before, but I don’t think that is of importance, where would rock n roll be if we’d given up after Elvis?

I can only paint what I see before me. The world is too fascinating to ignore and I feel it’s my duty to document what I can and paint it with my own voice. The key to this sporadic art form is in the subject itself. If a picture can evoke some sort of question or thought, then it has done its job.

Most of all while I’m on this artistic odyessey, I have one goal and that is to be world-class at what I do. Art is my day long obsession, joy & torment.
