Description Years ago a good friend gave me a black and white photo he had taken of these interesting rock formations in the alabama hills of southern California. The Sierra Nevada Range overlooks the area but wasn't visible in the photo but I couldn;t resist including it in the painting. My friend always thought that the central formation looks like a forlorn and rejected phophet trudging over the hill to his wilderness retreat.
