Description This photo was taken March 25, 2005, the last day of operation for the Big Spruce Chairlift at Stowe. On the right, the newly cut liftline awaits the new 'Sensation' chairlift. A snowboarder on the chairlift sheds a layer in the springtime sun. The chair, which was one of the least used on the mountain, was packed all day with skiers and snowboarders honoring its history.
Chris Romano, Wareham, MA Member Since April 2009 Artist Statement I was raised in the tiny hamlet of Owasco in the Finger Lakes Region of Central New York State and headed west in 1991 to pursue a degree in Resort Management in stunning Lake Tahoe. It was there that I gained an appreciation for the art of landscape photography and its ability to evoke feelings and allow one to relive memories.
I returned to the East Coast in 2000 to raise a family and enjoy the great outdoors. I spent over 10 years in the Stowe, Vermont area and it will forever stay in my soul. This site is dedicated to showcasing many of the unbelievable sights that I had the opportunity to see and photograph during my time there.
