Artist Statement These "about" you things are such a pain, but here goes...
All my life photography was something I have always had interest in. To be able to capture a moment in time and share with everyone. To see things we take for granted of in ways we other wise would have missed, for instance macro photography that shows the details of our world close up and personal. To see things through the eye of others... as a reflection of who they are and what they see as beautiful in their own perspectives. From amateur to professional, photography gives us insights into the worlds we see... it's a thought provoking media we can't compare to anything else.
I am only just getting started... and my love for photography is growing every day. In the past few years I have taken many photos, starting off with a Nikon D40x. It was a great entry level camera, but still limited in what I was wanting to achieve. The next camera was the Nikon D90, and great pro entry level camera. With my gear & small collection of lenses, the camera took me to a new level. Lenes I currently use;
• AF-S Nikkor 18-105mm| 3.5-5.6G ED lens
• Sigma DG120-400mm 1:4.5-5.6 APO HSM telephoto lens
• Sigma EX 70-200mm 1:1.8II Macro lens
• Nikkor 85mm 1:1.8D
With my latest addition I have recently acquired... the Nikon D7000, many of my most recent photos are what I consider my best yet. With in a few months I will be using the Nikon D3x. That should hold me for a while... maybe. I do need a few higher quality lenses too.
Some of you are aware that the past 8 months I have lost almost half of my photos due to a crashed hard drive. I paid to have it recovered, I did get some back... but there are so many of my most "prized" photos that are gone forever. Yes... I failed to back them up, the worst thing I could ever do. Some still exist in a low res image files scattered about the web. Maybe someday I will find them but I'm not holding my breath. It's terribly disturbing, but as disappointed as I am I'm moving on.
At this point I am not planning to give each and every photo the names and descriptions I have for many of them until I at least get the time it would take do that tedious process. For now just refer to the DSC number if you would like more info on the photo, like location, time of year, or even the exif information. I'll be happy to give you that information for the asking.
