Artist Statement While growing up in Watertown, Massachusetts, I started my art career by attempting to draw my favorite baseball players from my baseball cards at age 8. I attended Watertown High School and as a member of the art club, I discovered I had a passion for art, painting and drawing. However I attended Northeastern University's College of Criminal Justice and became a Police Officer in 1972. Utilizing what little art ability I had, I also became a Police Composite Sketch Artist in 1996. I have just retired from the Concord Police Department in February 2015, after 42 years on the job and "enjoying" every minute of it. I got great training on becoming a police sketch artist from the Stuart Parks Institute for Forensic Art and I also attended the FBI's Course on Forensic Facial Imaging, in February 2000. Aside from drawing portraits of "Bad Guys", I also enjoy painting in Acrylics and Pastels.I am currently a member,. of the Concord and Cape Cod Art Associations. My wife Cathie and I live in Waltham, Massachusetts with our 2 daughters Jacquelyn and Catherine.
