Artist Statement I am inspired by many things, such as the shapes and color combinations of nature, or by something my two sons do or say. Sometimes an entire painting is inspired by a moment in time, or the beginnings of a painting born from a single striking color. My smaller artwork is usually sketched in my art journal first, and then hand painted onto canvas. My larger paintings are created by putting down many layers, transforming with each layer until the desired look is achieved. I usually am working on several pieces at a time, and even occasionally cover a 'completed' painting with something entirely new! I hope that my art can bring as much joy to you as the paintings bring to me while creating them!
