Description Oil on canvas landscape painting I made trying to use swirling brush strokes. It is my best example of a color scheme I attempt in every painting I do. With Blue as the main color of the piece originating in the sky, with flashes of red or purple, and flowing into the Mountains combining with yellow forming green, while the foreground is brown and yellow. My goal was to make a surreal unity between the sky and the land. It is very reminiscent of both impressionist and surrealist styles.
Mat Pinckard, Paonia Member Since September 2011 Artist Statement I am a self educated artist. I paint mostly with oils. My goal is to make art that is not just looked at, but makes you want to enter the world it creates and explore around and off the canvas.
