Description The first time I met Sepher, he showed up in front of me while I was drawing without any plan. I was just making one more drawing of a head. it really surprised me when this guy grew wings out the sides of his head. I'd never seen anyone with wings as part of their head. He's further away and more etheric in this picture than in some of the others.
Don Sinish, Essex, MD Member Since May 2009 Artist Statement I started working regularly as an artist in 1971. This spring it will be 40 years. I try to not let a day go by without at least one session working on a painting or a drawing. In college I began the practice of carrying a sketchbook with me all of the time. I don't sketch much any more, but it's very rare that I don't have one of my current pieces and materials along with me. You never know where or when the occasion to get a little more work done will arise. I commonly paint and draw in coffeehouses and parks, just to get out of the house and talk to some humans.
Many years ago I started as an artist by carving stone. Over the years my interest in form has given way to a love of color. The pieces that excite me the most are about how three dimensional forms are created by color rather than changes in value. i love women and I love trees and flowers. That's me. I'd love for you to comment on which of the photos you would be most interested in seeing me paint. It's not a popularity contest, but it never hurts me to know what you think.
