M. Philip Sam was born in Pittsburgh in 1987. He took his first nature photograph at the age of 12. His subject was the fleeting golden hue of a Pittsburgh sunset. He went on to attend Ohio University in little Athens, Ohio. Most of his nights were spent out on the town’s brick streets photographing the unique architecture the school possessed. He returned to “The Burgh” in 2011 to continue the photographic career he began back when he was a boy.
