Inspired by nature, human interaction, dreams and visions, I express through my visual art, daily aspirations to live life authentically. I compose my various subjects by gently persuading the eye into the drawing, using soft forms and edges. Large brush strokes and suggested surroundings create ambiance for the intended focal subject. The primary subject is carefully composed with finer detail. I create using many different mediums: oil, acrylic, water color, chalk, and graphite in traditionally applied methods.

Much of my work is narrative, each painting telling an individual story, animating a scene in life where I felt a desire to further explore the moment. Life’s images take on a rosy ambiance as they rest in my subconscious, when painted they exude gentle nuance from having been reflected upon carefully. I love the human form, there is an incredible secret in the beauty and harmony of it. I cherish the aura of life and I strive to express the unseen journey in my paintings. My work is influenced by my study of mystical schools of thought, and my practice of the Sufi path. The soul searching, the questions and answers in my journey can be read in each piece.

I paint and draw because I revel in the beauty and wonder I experience as a human being. I believe the creative process is essential to all forms of expression and is therapeutic and healing. Learning the fundamentals of classical visual composition, is as inherent a need as reading and writing. I am deeply committed to supporting our communities access these skills, which in their nature enrich our culture, and more importantly lift our human consciousness
