Nice composition. I love the way you integrated the cracks into the face, they are like tears and frown lines between the eyes and on the forehead. Might have preferred a somehow more "natural" less "stylized" tree/flower design on the right, but this one creates a kind of contrast too. Thanks for sharing your art!

Thank you for your constructive criticism- I appreciate the positive feedback. The idea behind this is that I have worked my "tail" off for around 10 years (school, studio, etc...) and I'm growing impatient for my "rewards", in a sense have fallen asleep (which is my downfall and probably why I haven't received my blessings yet) so, I'm asking to be awakened when it's my turn for my blessings in this commercialized ("stylized") world. The roach symbolizes survival and can live through most anything...

Very interesting inspiration, it's so nice to know the thoughts behind the image, thoughts and feelings that are "universal" in a kind of way (well at least for us artists). Now I suddenly like the stylized trees!

I find this image quite thought provoking especially after reading your own interpretation. I agree with Ina-mar in that the way you have integrated the cracks into the face appear as though they are tears or expressions of sorrow and resignation. That you have allowed the roach or the symbol of survival to be the only thing with color speaks volumns. Could be you are a helluva survivor and will allow nothing to stand in your way in the expression of your dreams. Beautiful work.
