Description Colorized photo from 1866Original title: Northwest corner of 2nd and Dock StreetsPhotographer: UnknownLocation: Northwest corner of 2nd and Dock Streets, Philadelphia, PAThis is the Northwest corner of 2nd and Dock St, in Philadelphia, PA, as seen in the 1866. It's a cold winter day, snow has fallen recently, and it must have been nearly impossible to walk over frozen mud. This street being so close to the Delaware river, would have mostly seafarers who took advantage of the great variety of services here. On the corner is J.B. Smith Pattern & Model Maker, who specialized in ship mastheads. Just down the block was the Mercantile Hotel. And behind that is the Anthracite building, which was a part of the coal business. Just around the corner was a barber (Victor Grimm Practical Hair Cutting) , and I believe a Chinese food place. Today, none of these buildings exist, the corner does, the street is decked out in cobblestone. You can sort of imagine what it looked like then.

There are many themes, flowers, porches, and local Suburban Scenes, some city, some urban. I also have many Job inspired images that cover a quite a range.
