Home to the Official "Star Of David Sun Over the Sea of Galilee". This sunrise is what we saw the very first morning of our trip when we opened the curtains to our hotel room...as if God was saying, "Welcome to my home: Israel." My wife , her Mom, and I flew from New Orleans to New York then to Tel Aviv, Israel. Arriving at nighttime we rode the bus to Tiberius where our hotel was located on the Sea of Galilee. It was so dark the night before we couldn't even see the water from our seaside hotel balcony; however very early the next morning was quite the sight. I shot 3 photos of the stunning sunrise that morning and was shocked when I reviewed this photo on my Canon viewfinder to see the Star of David. Looking at the small LED screen I literally thought the small specs you see in the photo were dust...rather a small flock of birds. This is exactly how I shot this photo. The photo above is the one that has captured the fascination of everyone who has seen it, Jews and Christians alike. What a way to begin our tour of Israel! To say the least, it helped set the tone for the days to come and for many amazing experiences and wonderful memories. Having traveled the world, this by far was the most incredible trip that we have ever been on with the added bonus helping to strengthen our faith. This was a Biblical Israel tour and their tag line is so true: "Where the Bible Comes Alive." Israel is truly a special place with an incredible history like no other place in the world; everything you have ever read about or heard from Jesus's time from the Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, Capernaum, the Jordon River,the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and much more, you can see now with your own eyes.
