I've always loved to draw and paint people, and a subject that diverse and deep has occasioned many approaches to the human image, both internal and external... Some of the most recent paintings have been based on some of my own old family photos, many from before my time. While these paintings obviously have personal meaning to me, I have tried to paint them in such a way that they could be anyone's memories, anyone's relatives, anyone's little brother or old photo...In general, even when my paintings are portraits of specific people i hope there is something present that can engage anyone, not just those who know the sitter already.
