Artist Statement

I am driven by the wish that everybody should have some colors in their home. Personally I am most fond of the “Art of Oil Painting”. The colors can be so intense and strong. You certainly can impress your friends and family by having a high quality fine Art print or an original oil painting at home.



Since I am living on the Canary Islands for a couple of years now, I get inspirations for my paintings every single day. The nature here is awesome and of such great diversity that I will continue to get fresh inspirations for at least the next 950 years.

I have 5 main motives that I focus on right now. As I said the real works is at my door step. Those are:



   * Landscapes,

   * Seascapes,

   * Flowers,

   * Still Life, and

   * Abstract, Out-of-Space Scenery.

Although I love to go out into nature, I usually work indoors. The vivid Passat winds on Tenerife make it difficult most of the time to paint outdoors. Especially with oil. That means I take what I see with me in my memory and sometime I take some picture. But as you know, a camera is rarely at hand exactly when you need it, and the “light”, the position of clouds, the surf, everything does change within a couple of seconds. So a “good eye and memory” are essential for my art.



The Gallery “Water And Stone” contains the very first paintings that I make available as quality prints. But there will be much more to come.
