Description 1948 Grand Prix des Nations poster was created by the artist John A Genoux. It features two cars racing at breakneck speed past th St Pierre Cathedral in Geneva.The Geneva Circuit of Nations was an urban routebetween Lake Geneva and Place des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The race ran for 80 laps of the 2.9km circuit, a total of 237km. Only 2 out of 17 competitors went on to complete the 80 laps initially planned with the race being won by Giuseppe Farina in his Maserati 4CLT. The Grand Prix des Nations in Geneva ran for just five years between 1946 and 1950. Following an fatal accident the authorities decided not to hold the event anymore.
